Bob Capano is a dedicated educator, husband, father, and businessman running for the Newburgh Board of Education, which serves the Town and City of Newburgh and the Town of New Windsor.
With over 20 years of experience as a high school social studies teacher and adjunct professor, Bob has seen firsthand the challenges facing our students, teachers, and families.
As a No-Nonsense Leader, Bob stands up for the silent majority of families who may not have time to attend every school board meeting—but deserve a representative who fights for them.
He’s committed to ensuring safe schools, better resources for students with special needs, and stronger academic performance for every child in our community.

Every parent deserves peace of mind. Bob will advocate for enhanced security measures to protect students, teachers, and staff while fostering a safe and welcoming learning environment.
Support for Special Needs Students
Our schools must provide the best education for ALL students, including those with special needs. Bob will push for better resources, early intervention programs, and strong support systems to ensure every child succeeds.
Stronger Academics & Higher Graduation Rates
Newburgh’s students deserve the best education possible. Bob will work to improve graduation rates, raise test scores, and ensure teachers have the tools they need to help students thrive.
